Laminate floors are great investments for your home. They are inexpensive, can be made to look like anything that you want and are easy to install. When we decide on laminate flooring in eugene or for our homes we also want to make sure that the maintenance routine is easy and straight forward. For those working with laminate floors here are a few do’s and don’ts.
When deciding on a cleaning product you want to make sure that you read the directions carefully. You don’t want to use too much, too little or mix with other cleaners that may cause floors to stain and discolor. When working with these floors take your time and make sure you understand what you are doing before you do it.
Get stains quickly
The one thing about laminate floors is that you don’t want to have stains sit on your floor. When you have stains sit on your floor, they can do damage that can’t be repaired. If you are going to be doing activities that could cause stains or if you have pets and kids, make sure that you have a paper towel and cloths available to get them before they get you.
Stay away from abrasive materials
When we use abrasive materials and products, we can do damage to the protective coating of the floor. When we do this, we will ruin the floor and it will need to be replaced. When cleaning your floor you want to use soft bristle brushes and cleaning materials and agents that don’t have rough abrasion. Another tip is that you will want to start off in an area that is not seen or accessible before branching out into a larger more noticeable location.
When it comes to cleaning your floors, you don’t want to do damage to them or spend hours cleaning a simple mess. Learn what works best for your floor and create a routine that will be effective in time and effort.
